There Are Not Enough Stars Apr 20, 2026

I need more stars. We are putting our house up for sale, and the realtor smelled “natural gas,” so I called Xcel Energy, and they had someone out very quickly to assess the situation. It turns out it wasn’t natural gas but the lube valves. The Xcel representative saw our newer furnace installed by Hoffman and said the job wasn’t done to code, and that’s why the valves were leaking. I was rude when they reached out to me, and they probably shouldn’t have been so kind, but Andrew showed up and not only replaced the valve that wasn’t replaced initially by a former employee, he replaced the one on our dryer wall to make sure everything would pass inspection. There are not enough stars. For a contractor to return a couple years after installation and make it right and then some is unusual these days. Please rest assured that Hoffman will take care of you. Oh, and all this within days of being alerted. In the rudest of ways. I apologize for my inappropriate behavior a million times over. I wish I could’ve done more than just buy Andrew lunch. Choosing Hoffman Was a Great Decision Apr 8, 2026

Our former furnace was installed when we built the house 10 years ago. We wanted to be proactive as we advance in years. Choosing Hoffman out of all the choices in this area was a great decision. From initial contact with our salesperson, to scheduling, to the crew that came and did such an amazing job of installation, with minimum disruption, to the followup we are now experiencing. Highly recommend them as a superior locally owned vendor.

Everything Has Been Perfect Since Mar 19, 2026

I recently had them replace my 30-year-old furnace through an energy assistance program and everything seemed well, then Dean came and inspected the new furnace the next day and apparently wasn't happy with the performance of the new one but wasn't telling me much. I was contacted again to come inspect the furnace performance a day or two later and they came and checked it out and determined the new furnace was defective, which they didn't tell me until after they left my residence. I had called them because I no longer had heat and the guy on the phone told me the new furnace was going to be replaced. They came and replaced the new one with another new one and everything has been perfect since, but I guess the only reason I gave a 4-star review is because communication could definitely be better as far as the equipment they are installing and if they are having some issues with things it would be nice to be kept in the loop. But otherwise they were all very pleasant to work with and I would definitely recommend Hoffman to other people.

Steve (sales) was very helpful and professional. Our furnace had a bad/rusted-out firebox and would not heat the air. After basic (unsuccessful) troubleshooting, Steve arranged for his crew to arrive early next morning to do more in-depth checks. It was determined that the best course of action was furnace replacement. Elliot is a savior in MN!! I’ve been in my house almost 9 years and Hoffman has literally beat out everyone on price and service. When I needed a new furnace no one beat them in price and availability, even the company who wrongly diagnosed my furnace and left me and my family to live unsafe couldn’t beat them. I want to thank all the wonderful people at Hoffman Heating and Cooling for coming to our rescue today after our 21-year-old furnace quit working last night. I personally want to thank Scot, the owner, for getting us seen as quickly as possible. Our technician, Drew, was here at 8:30 this morning and we decided it was time to replace the furnace. Our installer, Isaiah, was here by 1:30. Our new furnace was installed and running in no time. They all were very professional. I was impressed with how quickly they got us taken care of and I am now enjoying a nice warm house! I would recommend them hands down.

I was in need of a new furnace quickly after finding out my 10-year-old furnace had a large crack in the heat exchanger. The company that found the crack quoted me a price I wasn't comfortable with. I reached out to a few places for other quotes (also had a family friend quote). After talking to Steve from Hoffman, I knew this was going to be the best choice. He was great at explaining and breaking down information that I wasn't provided with from other companies and giving me a price that was a lot more reasonable. He was communicative throughout the whole process from start to finish. The installer, Colton, was very efficient and professional. He was done and cleaned up within 3 hours! I Am Warm and I Am Grateful Jan 18, 2026

I woke up in a panic and called Hoffman. My furnace was 28 years old, and I was left without heat for 1 night and overnight. It was cold outside and VERY cold in my house. I called at 7 a.m. on a Sunday morning and spoke to the owner, Scott. We tried to troubleshoot together on the phone. Scott decided to send out a tech. Drew came out so quickly. He was so nice and explained things in a way that I understood. I felt at ease the minute Drew started talking. We discussed my options, and I decided to get a new furnace. Colton came less than 2 hours later. Colton was a great young man, even sang while he worked (which I thought was the cutest thing ever). Oh, and my dog loved him. Got heat! Furnace stopped on a cool MN Saturday morning; I called this neighbor-recommended business and technician Drew arrived within 10 minutes of my call to evaluate and suggest options and costs. We chose to replace the furnace with a new 2-stage furnace, and it was installed by Isaiah within 2 hours on Monday. Now 3-zone heat appears to work well throughout the house, and it has been arranged by Hoffman that an MN electrician inspector will arrive shortly. Included with the installation service is a "whole home duct cleaning," to be completed by their technician Chuck in a warmer month. Also included is a "10 year parts and labor warranty." There are two significant incentives for purchasing this 97% AFUE furnace December 2025: (1) Hoffman arranges Xcel Energy's issuance of a $400 check to arrive to the customer's address within about a month, and (2) USA federal tax credit using form 5695 goes to your Schedule 3, to yield a $600 credit April 2026. I highly recommend Hoffman Heating because Scot Hoffman and the technicians convey competence and kindness, guiding the homeowner through what could be considered a not-so-fun heating problem.

We used Hoffman to replace our furnace and a year later our AC at our previous house. Both were very good experiences, so had them back today to clean our air ducts and furnace at our new place. We woke up on a Tuesday morning in a cold house. Our furnace had broken down during the night in 30-degree weather, fortunately, not frigid temperatures. We could take a little time deciding on a contractor, not being under emergency conditions like we’d experienced the last time we replaced a furnace! After phoning Hoffman Heating that morning, Drew the salesman arrived within a few hours, provided a straightforward, honest assessment and reasonable cost estimates. By Wednesday night, we’d decided to work with Hoffman. Right on schedule, John and Ryan showed up at 8:15 on Thursday morning. Within a few hours, the new furnace was in and the house was warming up. Everyone has been friendly, easy to work with, communications have been clear. The new furnace is quiet and performing well.

Amazing from start to finish. When we woke up to a chilly home, Steve sent out his best technician to look at our furnace. Drew told us what we already knew, we needed a new furnace. Picked out a shiny new furnace and AC. Colton and Ryan came out at 8 a.m. on Monday morning to get everything up and running. From my walk-through quote (with Steve) to the furnace install today, Hoffman has been phenomenal to work with. I walked away from the zero-pressure quote feeling confident about what to look for while considering other quotes. I quickly returned and booked with Hoffman, and I am happy I did. Steve has been hands-on every step, making sure everything is as it should be. Best of all, you can’t beat a 10-year parts AND labor warranty (without having to do a maintenance plan) for the furnace I chose. I highly recommend this company! My old furnace (also a Lennox) was the original (40+ years old) to the home when I bought it, so hopefully this new furnace will last for many, many years.
